I’m not one to get into the whole “workout to do” thing, but I find that it is a good way to start some time in the day. You can find a few easy, low-impact workouts in the gym that don’t require a lot of energy or commitment. In the summer, I’m usually pretty lazy, so I usually make up a few easy exercises that would fit in on my weekend to do list.
It could be the fact that the gym is not only close to home, but also a good fitness studio! But there are also some easy exercises that work out your body in a way that will get you moving. For example, if you find that you are lacking mobility in your lower back, you can try starting your day with a little squatting to get your spine and pelvis moving in a certain direction. Or try doing squats that are just straight up and down.
For a more full-body workout, you could try doing leg presses. These are really good for building your lower back and glutes. I do them on my daily cardio workout when I need to tone up.
Another good form of cardiovascular exercise is to do a variety of push ups. Like many, I tend to do them just as I’m turning one of my arms over. This is great for building strength and building your butt.
The reason I’ve started this blog is because I’ve been craving more personal detail about the people I work with. I’ve never really been a fan of personal detail, but I’ve really come into my current job as an executive software developer and I’ve always enjoyed being able to tell you about a specific person and what they’re doing. I can’t think of a worse time for me to be an executive software developer than now.
In the past Ive never been a big fan of personal detail, but for the past year and a half Ive been working as an executive software developer at a major investment management firm and Ive always had this need to tell you about a specific person. Ive never been one to be secretive about who I work with, but Ive always had a desire to find out what they were up to and what their day was like.
It’s not surprising that a person with so little self-awareness would like to be as in-the-know as possible about everything. A self-aware person knows everything about herself, not just her home life.
While most people with a passion for self-awareness don’t want to know everything about themselves, it is possible that some people may be quite good at self-awareness. They could be good at identifying their own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. When they have a little meta-cognition, they know what kind of person they are, which is a huge step towards self-awareness.
One of the best examples of a person who has a good sense of self-awareness is Tom Hanks. Tom has been nominated for an Oscar multiple times, so he seems to be well aware of himself. However, he doesn’t seem to be able to stop and think about it. Just like a lot of people, Tom sometimes forgets he’s on autopilot.
